Introducing Victor Vargas, Software Development Engineer in Experian’s Engineer Accelerator program! Our Engineer Accelerator Program is a fast track, 24-month technology rotation program that recruits talented computer engineers from reputable universities and assigns them challenging projects across Experian business units.

Victor shares with us his experience as a part of the program and what led him to a career in the tech space.

Experian is one of the world leaders in big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning, what are you learning right now and what projects are currently working on?

I have learned so much about what Experian is doing for the security of its clients, not only financial security but identity and social security. Over the past months, I have worked on improving the current identity monitoring tool, making it better, and providing more features for the clients and people that use it.

What led you to a career in the tech space?

A combination of luck and hard work, I’ve always been interested in the tech area, but when I started learning programming all the way back in middle school, I knew this was what I wanted to do, and I saw there were many possibilities and things to do with it.

How has this program advanced your skills and career development?

This program has been a blessing, it provided me with the opportunity, not only to put my degree to the test but to polish my skills and learn new ones. It showed me that with dedication I am capable of more than I thought, while at the same time showing me there is still a lot to learn.
