Meet Stuart Williams.
Stuart shares his career progression that led to his current role at Experian as Agile Delivery Lead and shares how our flexible working model has provided support to him and his team.
Tell us your story and career journey that led to your current role.
I started out as a software engineer working within Databases, and after a break to travel the world, progressed through to managing a Development team. From there I went into Project Management for 14 years, and worked with a variety of business and technical projects, within the travel and credit card industries. After a couple of years working with Agile approaches, I moved to Experian in 2016 as a Project Manager delivering client solutions. The opportunity came for me to return to Agile work in 2019, and I grabbed it, and now work as an Agile Delivery Lead with our DCI products area.
What is the most exciting part of your role?
Working with the team to get things delivered at pace. That feeling when the new functionality is in place, and we are able to resolve someone’s issue is great, especially when you are sharing this with the team that got it over the line. Also when you work with the team to make a change that makes something better. It is great to see a change made to processes or approaches have a good effect.
What makes Experian stand out from other tech companies?
The support we have within the new ways of working have been really important. I have really felt valued over the last two years, and seen the support for all of the team members as we have adjusted to hybrid and home working. The flexibility has been very important.
How has Experian’s Agile transformation impacted your role and experience?
For me it has been great to get back to Agile. The change to working with a consistent team to develop and improve a product is a much more natural way to make things better. We are now actively changing the processes to enable us to deliver more effectively. Working together as a team for over 2 years has meant that whilst we have developed a wide range of enhancements for multiple clients, we have been able to improve the way we work together and build good relationships as we deal with each different challenge.

Have confidence in yourself.
