Meet Olga Klosinska, Junior Software Developer Apprentice, member of Experian’s 2021 apprenticeship cohort in Nottingham, UK.
We spoke with Olga to learn more about her interest in a career in technology and her apprenticeship.
What drew you to Experian’s apprenticeship program, and what is the key area of focus of your apprenticeship?
I found out about the apprenticeship program when I was applying to university. I always enjoyed the more practical aspects of computer science at sixth form so learning to code on the job and gaining industry experience from the software development teams whilst also getting a university degree was an amazing opportunity.
I received a lot of support from Experian during the application process. I was quite nervous applying for the apprenticeship, but the early careers team has been very friendly and welcoming!
What initially drew you to a career in technology?
From a young age I became interested in coding, making my own programs at school and in my free time. When I learned more about computer science, the logic and theory behind it fascinated me. I love the way coding teaches you to think outside the box and experiment with different approaches to solving problems, so the thought of doing it as a job really appealed to me.
What excites you most about this program?
I’m really excited to become an active member of my team, contributing towards real work in a supportive environment where I can push myself and develop my technical skills through practice which stretches and challenges me. I have already learned so much since starting the program and I’m looking forward to what the next four years have to offer!
