Experian is one of the world leaders in big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning, what are you learning right now, and what projects are currently working on?
As the tech lead of the team, I have the privilege of working in basically every project we’ve been developing! I believe the last lesson learned would be the usage of CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks), a deep learning method that enables a RPA solution to resolve CAPTCHAs with 90%+ accuracy.
What is the most significant part of your job?
Be able to learn and pass the knowledge through the whole team. It truly makes my heart warm when I see the developers being able to enhance their solutions! Also, another significant part of my job is that we don’t just develop solutions because we’re asked to. Since we are part of the projects since their beginning, we can understand why and how our solutions may benefit the business, and even increase the scope of it! It’s for sure makes us different from the usual ‘developer’ that will basically just get an open ticket and work on it.
Do you have any advice for current and future tech professionals you would like to share?
The most common problem I have seen in my career is that tech professionals don’t ask the right questions. I believe that what differentiates a Senior from a Junior is definitely how the question would be made, so I`d advise that when you get blocked, understand your context very well so you can ask the right questions.
