Introducing Marizette Galvez, Software Development Director at Experian. Marizette shares about her career journey in tech projects she’s had the opportunity to work on, and what makes Experian stand apart from other technology companies. #CreatorsofExperian

I started my career in IT in 1988, my sister started in programming the year before and was so excited about the opportunities in technology. I was convinced I needed to pursue the same career. I had a chance to work as a Jr. Programmer at First Interstate Bank. Leveraging the knowledge I gained within the banking industry, I was able to transition and expand my skills in application development as I started my journey with Experian. Through the next 29 years, I was able to gain a thorough understanding of the credit and financial business and associated the value of what technology can deliver to our business partners and consumers. Team collaboration deeply motivates me when a group of like-minded individuals comes together on an idea….it’s exhilarating. I lead a great group of people that are willing to provide support not only to our business partners or clients but most especially to our peers. We share failures and successes together for each project that we work on.

What are some past and current projects?

With the many years that I have been with Experian, I‘ve had the privilege of being involved in projects that have had a significant impact on the business. Being a part of the Product Development team, we constantly collaborate with Product Marketing to deliver the best products to our clients. I have been involved in the launch of new products like Experian Boost and the Nike Modernization project where the goal is to significantly scale our services to meet the ever-growing demand of Credit Reporting. Our goal for each project is to provide the best client experience with quality software that will serve their needs.

What makes Experian different from other tech companies?

Experian focuses on our employees by allowing people to grow. By doing so, has encouraged our people to continue to learn and apply innovative ideas that provide value to new and existing products. Additionally, we are fortunate to work on best in class technology that helps our clients make smart decisions for their business.
